The TEA1733T is an NXP Semiconductors GreenChip fixed-frequency flyback SMPS controller IC designed for efficient and cost-effective AC-DC power supply applications. It is suitable for power supplies up to approximately 75 W and integrates features such as overcurrent protection, overpower protection, frequency jitter for reduced EMI, slope compensation for CCM operation, soft-start control, and multiple protection inputs.

For Bangladeshi electronics students, engineers, technicians and power-supply repair professionals, the TEA1733T is particularly useful when designing or repairing flyback SMPS circuits, AC-DC adapters, notebook power supplies, chargers and other compact power supplies.

The TEA1733T SMPS Controller IC is an 8-pin SO8 controller intended for fixed-frequency flyback converters. Its integrated controller functions help reduce external component count while providing current regulation and protection functions.

The IC supports a 12 V to 30 V operating supply range and uses a gate-driver output to control an external power MOSFET. At light loads, the controller reduces switching frequency to help reduce switching losses and improve efficiency.

NXP also documented a 65 W, 19.5 V notebook adapter reference design using the TEA1733T, demonstrating its use in practical AC-DC flyback power supplies.
